I told you last time that I had booked my trip to Greece for 2025. I took the next step this week, and I bought a new DSLR camera. I’ve never considered myself a photographer, nor will I ever (more than likely), but I love nature, and pictures of the landscape from different areas of the country. And so, my goal is to take as many pictures as I possibly can while I’m there. And while I’m learning the ropes, I’ll make the most of the nature that is all around me.
I also have adopted a second cat. I know, I’m well on my way to becoming a crazy cat lady. But my 1.5 year old cat needed a buddy. A playmate so I wasn’t the subject of the biting and the scratching all day. I found a 10 month old cat, and thought the age difference, and the first cat being older, would be good for us. It was a little shaky at first, But less than a week later, we are loving each other. They are playing, they aren’t really snuggling, but that’s okay. And the first cat has been super lovey, making sure I remember he was the first, and is my baby.
So, as I step into this life as the mom of two boys, lord help me, I’m excited for new stories. For starters, things I didn’t think I’d ever say, “Don’t make your brother poop on the floor!” as the younger cat tried attacking the older cat while he was pooping the other day. I also got a little Blink camera so I can spy on them when I’m not home. It likely won’t catch much, but it was worth a shot.
For all of our single pet parents out there, we all deserve some recognition. Even two pet parent households. We often spend more on our pets then we do ourselves (literally spent $120 on my cats today and only $75 on me), and we are rewarded with their lifetime of love. I have already started worrying about what will happen when I have to say goodbye, but I’m hoping they just live forever. So I never have to.
