Starting Off 2025

My December updates I had written in very early December. Before anything really happened. And let me just tell you, 2024 ended with a bang, or more like went out in a ball of flames.

The garage next to my car caught fire and literally melted the drivers side of my car. $13,000+ worth of body damage plus a complete rewire of the electrical system meant my beloved car was totaled. I loved that car so much, and it broke my heart. Thank god for comprehensive insurance (I highly recommend collision, liability, comprehensive, under/uninsured motorist policies). I am now the owner of a brand new car. It’s the same make, but the model up from what I had. I decided I needed more storage.

Ah, but where does that leave my living situation you ask? Well, I have not been living in the apartment I pay for. I have friends that have graciously taken me and my cats in until I can move into my condo in early January (I’m writing this New Year’s Day, and I will be moving in in a week). I still need to go pack and clean, but I will be out of there soon, and on my way to home ownership as well.

Needless to say, it was a hell of a December. It was a December that quite honestly I don’t think could have ended any crazier to top off a year where I was diagnosed with endometriosis, PCOS, had surgery, moved several times, paid off a significant part of my student loans, and managed to write a significant amount of poetry about the life I was living and the feelings I was feeling. Because if it can happen, chances are it will absolutely happen to me.

My book is still set to publish April 25, 2025. I just have to sit down post move and really finalize the process. What does that look like? It looks like making final edits and figuring out what order I want to publish them in. Because when I started this project I had a specific layout in mind. But as my poetry evolved, so did my thought profess, and I just haven’t settled on one thing yet. I think my deadline is March 25 to have it uploaded and ready to publish, but I should check on that.

Anyway, I hope that your 2025 goes smoothly and with as little chaos as possible. As far as for me and my house, I’m prepped for all the chaos my heart can handle.
